Sobering words
We'd better start talking about the shape of the table now because this country doesn't have the stomach to face what is coming!

Gingrich Speech in New Hampshire . Apparently it is causing a firestorm.

NEWT GINGRICH : The third thing I want to talk about very briefly is the genuine danger of terrorism, in particular terrorists using weapons of mass destruction and weapons of mass murder, nuclear and biological weapons. And I want to suggest to you that right now we should be impaneling people to look seriously at a level of supervision that we would never dream of if it weren't for the scale of threat.


Let me give you two examples. When the British this summer arrested people who were planning to blow up ten airliners in one day, they arrested a couple who were going to use their six month old baby in order to hide the bomb as baby milk.

Now, if I come to you tonight and say that there are people on the planet who hate you, and they are 15-25 year old males who are willing to die as long as they get to kill you, I've simply described the warrior culture which has been true historically for 6 or 7 thousand years.

But, if I come to you and say that there is a couple that hates you so much that they will kill their six month old baby in order to kill you, I am describing a level of ferocity, and a level of savagery beyond anything we have tried to deal with.

And, what is truly frightening about the British experience is they are arresting British citizens, born in Britain , speaking English, who went to British schools, live in British housing, and have good jobs.

This is a serious long term war, and it will inevitably lead us to want to know what is said in every suspect place in the country, that will lead us to learn how to close down every website that is dangerous, and it will lead us to a very severe approach to people who advocate the killing of Americans and advocate the use of nuclear or biological weapons.

And, my prediction to you is that either before we lose a city, or if we are truly stupid, after we lose a city, we will adopt rules of engagement that use every technology we can find to break up their capacity to use the Internet, to break up their capacity to use free speech, and to go after people who want to kill us to stop them from recruiting people before they get to reach out and convince young people to destroy their lives while destroying us.

This is a serious problem that will lead to a serious debate about the first amendment, but I think that the national security threat of losing an American city to a nuclear weapon, or losing several million Americans to a biological attack is so real that we need to proactively, now, develop the appropriate rules of engagement.

And, I further think that we should propose a Geneva convention for fighting terrorism which makes very clear that those who would fight outside the rules of law, those who would use weapons of mass destruction, and those who would target civilians are in fact subject to a totally different set of rules that allow us to protect civilization by defeating barbarism before it gains so much strength that it is truly horrendous.

This is a sober topic, but I think it is a topic we need a national dialogue about, and we need to get ahead of the curve rather than wait until actually we lose a city which could literally happen within the next decade if we are unfortunate.

This is a very sober description of the Islamic terrorist threat we are faced with . We are NOW at war with a culture that wants, not to take over our land, but to KILL us.

Ireland Gets It

STEVE FORBES, Forbes magazine (1/12/09): If the incoming Obama Administration is serious about squeezing more money from businesses, it should follow the example of Ireland and slash corporate tax rates. The U.S. has one of the highest profits levies in the developed world: 35% at the federal level, with another average of 5% from state and local taxes. Only Japan has worse. In contrast, Ireland's rate is a mere 12.5%. Imagine the howls from congressional Democrats if Barack Obama were to suggest enacting such a low corporate tax rate in the U.S.

But the accompanying table tells an eye-opening tale: Ireland's corporate tax take as a portion of its economy is higher than that of the U.S. High rates breed pressure for ever more complicated exemptions and ever more ingenious ways to avoid Uncle Sam's tax bite. But an Irish-like rate leaves companies to focus brainpower on growing their businesses instead of on jousting with tax collectors. A general flat tax, such as Yours Truly has been advocating for decades, would give just such a benefit to both individuals and businesses. Alas, misbegotten populist ideology still trumps fairness and common sense.

The Obama White House is pushing a massive stimulus plan that will do little to reinvigorate the recessed economy. Government spending does not create prosperity. If it did, the Soviet Union would have won the Cold War. Low tax rates positively change incentives: Entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and investors are induced to take more risks; businesses become more expansion-minded; and individuals positively adjust their own behavior, knowing that they can keep more of what they earn and that success will not be punished.

Up-Front: A Perspective for 2009

I thought it important to share concerning the presidential election season that just ended and wrote my impressions below on my last flight from Washington. I have compared my views with those of others –a check for balance sake - and offer it to you as my perspective to begin 2009.

There are three foundational pillars to our ministry: 1) Prayer, 2) Discipleship & 3) the Nations. Realizing there are many ways in which we each extend ourselves into the places where the Lord sends us when I read our position with a critical eye it is the ‘big picture’ that concerns me. This month we begin our 20th year (1989-2009) and it is the overview—the composite image—that I question. As a group, much of what we do reminds me of baby steps—small, small, small—too little, too late; as a group we are sluggish, moving only as fast and as far as the least can move. We have GOT to “get it” – all of us!

Besides this ministry, I am amazed generally with the silly operation of faith in the church. Members operate as believers in the same way they might as astronauts—they do not operate. Instead, something else is going on.

First, faith has become another word for Christianity - or any other religion - as though by the term faith I describe religious preference. Of course that is not faith; faith is power—faith is power to establish what we have been sent to establish and it is not working well for us. I believe the reason is that the minds of people of faith and the words they speak contradict the very thing they say they mean to establish, a schizophrenic approach.

Secondly, Bible studies and group meetings are now so me-centered they blind the Body to what is at stake—there is no actionable result that impacts the lifestyle of the members, only short-term mission outreaches designed to add that part of the model to the resume. Worldview is not a dynamic for us, it is a topic of conversation; and if the ability to converse on just the obvious worldview issues is a measure, the score is painful, shallow to the point of boredom—the hearer is bored, not the one speaking; the one speaking is stimulated to the max to hear themselves carry on and on in terms gleaned from someone else, with opinions they have no historical basis or measure of well-rounded information.

Third - multiply the condition to include homes, congregations, places of power and we see the nation is in a soup of words and opinions that produce little in places of power where worldview is shaped. We are talking to hear ourselves talk and apparently do not intend to do the hard part – to step into the soup and speak up.

Thankfully, those who are serious understand that faith is power, that worldview is Jesus’ model to shift the individual, the home and the nations for the Gospel, and that our work has a window of time, after which the window closes. But not enough believers get it and it is shocking that today is another day in our future in which we fail to convey as one voice, with clear and impressive reality, that the Son of God is Lord – that besides Him there is no other lord, that we are ministers of, and ambassadors of His, that we are not whispers, heavy breathers, or empty-headed wanderers, but are strategic, focused and determined.

In my view…

I explained in last month’s letter that I believe we have squandered a critically historical season in which the United States was given a two-term leader whose relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob guided him. Among other things, President George W. Bush boldly put his foot on the head—one head, many expressions—of partial birth abortion, embryonic stem cell research, and a heaven-earth alignment of spiritual forces against our national future—our children. There are many serious issues our government faces but only a few of those pivot us toward blessing or curse. For example, despite the fact that for decades no one could slow the momentum of a literal culture of death—its guns aimed squarely at changing America’s future as a Christian nation once and for all—President Bush’s unpopular leadership in other policy areas provoked a surge of words of doubt, impatience, contempt, despising. Even from the church, those with God-given power of the spoken word to advance the Kingdom utilized that same power against God’s man. The spiritual battle that ensued, I believe, made confusion the rule: north appeared to be south, up to be down, and wrong received the nod to be right; confusion ruled sufficiently to overwhelm and outclass righteous effort. Though many were praying it is obvious that a contradiction of prayer emerged: How it is that something so certain in the excitement of the prayer meeting is – possibly by morning—questioned, doubted and all but counted down, and out without so much as a fight. How can we be so glad one minute and so sad the next? Perhaps the equilibrium thing is the problem – no wonder many are so medicated.

Question: Do we have the spiritual guts to stay the course with guarded hearts and words? Armies in battle and under command do not shift and twist with the battle—they stay in the battle, “keep the faith”; lives are laid down in the process because the object of the battle is worth the battle. If we cannot decide what we believe, or how to proceed, we are not sufficiently spiritual to be in uniform-- much less in the battle.

Conclusion
So, if we were given a godly man to stand spiritually against the spirit-battle, and against terrorism in the natural—forces most of us can only imagine—why did WE step back; or should I say backward? The tendency is that we do not know what we are talking about, but present our opinions as those who know a great deal. Our knowledge of history is pitiful, and our knowledge of current events often from sources whose agenda is devastating to everything we value; we are narrow-minded, uninformed and silly—we do not study, do not grow, and are content to settle for what we can get instead of the vast territory believers were meant to occupy. Our prayers are nullified by doubt and speculation, sometimes before the amen is said. More and more, I carefully choose who to join in prayer since often it is religious, repetitious, simple-minded, uninformed and worst of all, without faith—meaning without power. Too many pray with out-dated mindsets and prayers often are little more than a report to God of imaginary facts with suggested ways in which He should handle the situation. If it does not happen the way we prescribe and preferably immediately, we change out of our giant suits and into something else—discouraged, oppressed, needing prayer, cannot go on, do not know what to think, guess I missed it—blah, blah, blah.
To balance this I must say that some do step up—single-minded, steady, articulate, confident, clear about prayer, not fainting; others do not.

Reposition…
We have been sidelined to some extent since, as has been said, often we simply do not know what we are talking about and are shallow in our understanding; we have been dull spiritually and have not realized the full weight and gravity of the main issue – that death is a spirit and once the door is opened, everyone is game—even you.

#1 - We must speak to the misinformation but also we have to do it better than we have so far--wiser, sharper, and in terms the non-believing world can understand. If those who ridicule our values throw a fit, throw one back—tell them the truth but tell them in words they understand.

#2 - We need to change our approach—less willing to wait and more exacting. For starters, we should not be patient with absurd misinformation like the mark placed on our president—that our strongly Christian president is “that way” because he is unlearned, not savvy. The protest was difficult to hear.

#3 - How will we respond as the same mocking and perception are applied more and more to you and me—that an intelligent, educated, experienced person would never think like we do; that we are too simple and unsophisticated to compete in the American newly-being-created-culture that craves religion with a European flair and a renaissance mindset concerning which god.

#4 - We can reposition. Each person needs to gather ten others to disciple and help them understand that we can change the momentum of the problems we are faced with, many of which are foreign and domestic doors that have been opened by abortion, the taking of innocent life. We need to speak clearly and often but our increase of influence comes with increase of those who have been discipled and trained.

#5 - What we do we must do quickly.

Volition!

Four days ago I watched a short film called "Volition" that is extremely powerful and well done. It's a great investment of fifteen minutes. I watched it twice. I highly recommend that you grab a cup of coffee and view this, undistracted. Maybe have your family watch it together after dinner. I really like this one!

It was filmed mainly in three days in August on a small budget, to be entered in a short film contest. There's not much info on it on the web yet, so likely you haven't heard of it. But when you see it, I think you'll join me in wanting to spread the word.

"Volition" masterfully places its unnamed central character in the context of three of the greatest human rights violations in history: the holocaust, slavery, and abortion.

The film's synopsis explains its name: "Volition (n)- The act of making a choice. Sometimes the choice of inaction has consequences stronger than we could ever imagine. Throughout history, men have been faced with difficult choices in a world that makes it easy for them to conform. This film explores the hope that lies behind every decision made in the face of adversity; the hope that is buried in the heart of those that look beyond themselves and see something bigger worth fighting for."

The film was produced by brothers Tim and Matthew Morgan, who created it when they were chosen as finalists for The Doorpost, an online short film competition. The brothers' ages are themselves an achievement: Tim Morgan, who directed the film, is only twenty-three years old, and his brother Matthew, who composed all the music, is twenty.

The Christian community, he says, "has kind of left the art world on the back burner. My vision would be them treating the art world, the film world, with the same sense of urgency as they’re treating, for instance, an overseas mission."

"This is an emergency for our culture, to be able to influence our film, our arts, the American pop culture in this way."

On a mostly unrelated subject, check out this response from Robert Gagnon to the December 15 cover story in Newsweek, "Our Mutual Joy," written by Religion Editor Lisa Miller and strongly endorsed by Managing Editor Jon Meacham. As you may have heard, the article claimed that there are no good arguments from Scripture for refusing to support “gay marriage.” Interesting when a major news magazine shows an interest in biblical interpretation, and very sad when they misrepresent Scripture so badly.

But don't let the Newsweek media downer distract you from appreciating Volition, which is exactly the kind of media accomplishment we need. May God raise up more of these gifted young people to make these kinds of films! And may the church lay hands on them and send them out as Christ's ambassadors, with the same sense of God's calling and anointing we have when sending out missionaries.

G-20...heads up! Please ASK for God's help!

"We want a new world to come out of this." -Nicolas Sarkozy

Today, November 14 and Saturday, November 15, a G-20 Leaders Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy is convened in Washington D.C. The emergency summit was called two months ago by President George W. Bush to discuss the international financial crisis. Most of the discussions will take place behind closed doors, with much of the focus on reducing the economic influence of the United States and coerce the U.S. into new global financial alignments, similar to those of the "Bretton Woods System" established in 1944. (See below)

Leading up to the Summit, Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown said, "My message is that we must be: internationalist not protectionist; interventionist not neutral; progressive not reactive; and forward looking not frozen by events. We can seize the moment and in doing so build a truly global society." Brown wants to bring economic decisions into alignment with social needs around the world. French President Nicolas Sarkozy, after meeting with European leaders in Paris on October 4th, called for the global summit to implement "a real and complete reform of the international financial system." Sarkozy said, "We want a new world to come out of this." Oh my gosh.

In announcing the summit in early October, Bush said, "We live in a globalized world. We want to make sure that we're effective at what we do. Once we made the decision that there is a role for the federal government to move to stabilize the markets we want to make sure that all of us move in the best coordinated way as possible." The President of the European Union agreed with Bush during an October 18th meeting at Camp David. Jose Manuel Barroso said, The international financial system -- its basic principles and regulations and its institutions need reform. We need a new global financial order." We need to be in serious prayer this weekend.

The Bretton Woods system of monetary management established the rules for commercial and financial relations among the world's major industrial states. The Bretton Woods system was the first example of a fully negotiated monetary order intended to govern monetary relations among independent nation-states. Preparing to rebuild the international economic system as World War II was still raging, 730 delegates from all 44 Allied nations gathered at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, for the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference. The delegates deliberated upon and signed the Bretton Woods Agreements during the first three weeks of July 1944. Setting up a system of rules, institutions, and procedures to regulate the international monetary system, the planners at Bretton Woods established the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) (now one of five institutions in the World Bank Group) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). These organizations became operational in 1945 after a sufficient number of countries had ratified the agreement.

It is important that we intercede about this meeting and ask the Holy Spirit to intervene on behalf of the sovereignty and Constitutional identity of the United States.

To intercede with understanding and pray into the aftermath of this G-20 Summit, you are encouraged to study about the Bretton Woods conference. II Timothy 3:1-9 2 Timothy 3
Godlessness in the Last Days
1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.




What is this world coming to? The Word of God let's us know exactly what will take place with regard to this world, the end time events, and the glorious future for the children of God. Last week we spoke of the dangers of any study of prophecy.

* Setting Dates and Making Predictions.
* Interpreting Scripture in light of Headlines.
* Trying to Answer Unanswerable Questions.
* Ignoring the Practical Application of Scripture.

With that in mind, we want to continue this evening with a message that will answer the question of 'What this world is coming to'.

Read: 2 Timothy 3:1-9

I. Signs of the Times

A. The Last Days are described as "Perilous Times" (v.1).

1. How do we know we are near the end?

2. We look to the signs of the times.

3. In this passage we learn that the last days will be "perilous times."

4. "Perilous" comes from a word that means "violent, dangerous or savage."

5. It's only other usage in the NT is in Mt.8:28 where the demon-possessed men are described as "exceedingly fierce."

Mt 8:28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

6. Though evil has been with us in every generation, it seems that standards of morality and decency are ignored more and more as time goes on.

7. This wickedness will reach an 'exceedingly fierce' point as the last days draw to an end.

B. People Will Lack Character (v2-3).

1. The people will be "lovers of themselves."

a. Never in history has our society been so motivated by self-gratification.

b. Me-first has become the American way of life.

c. What's in it for me? Whether it is work, play, or even worship.

2. The people will be "lovers of money."

a. The refusal to deny self anything has already brought on enormous debt.

b. Christians lament that they 'can't afford' to tithe or give to missions.

c. The reason? They have over-extended themselves with things.

3. The people will be "boasters, proud" and "blasphemers."

a. 'I don't need God…I don't need anyone!'

b. They are self-made and arrogant.

4. The people are described as "disobedient to parents, unthankful."

a. Isn't amazing that Paul could see into what the world would become? NO

b. Remember, God inspired the Scripture.

c. The Lord revealed to him a future time when the family unit would be broken down.

d. He certainly could be writing about the conditions of our young people today.

e. Oh, how we need to pray for our children's workers and youth workers.

f. Children are so bombarded with the philosophy of the world that our church is on the frontline of this battle!

5. People are "unholy" or profane.

a. You cannot watch TV without hearing explicit profanity.

b. We aren't visiting Mayberry anymore.

c. Even cartoons are vile…the Simpsons, South Park, etc.

d. Beyond profane language, are the profane subject matters addressed as normal!

6. People are "unloving, unforgiving, slanderers."

a. Our court system is clogged with frivolous litigation.

b. Class action suits are being filed on everything from tobacco to McDonalds.

c. I heard a couple of weeks ago about a guy who was suing Atkins because he developed heart trouble.

d. Neighbors sue one another over where the leaves drop…

7. People shun "self-control."

a. They are "brutal, despisers of good."

b. Instead of uplifting what is pure and good, our culture uplifts what is filthy and wicked.

c. Look at the heroes placed before our children.

C. People Will Have No Conviction (v4-5).

1. People are "traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God."

2. You would think that people would flock to worship God?

3. They have "a form of godliness but deny its power."

a. There are many who profess to be religious but deny God's power.

b. They deny His creation, His Word, His Son and His coming.

c. Paul tells us that we are to "turn away" from them.

D. People Will Have No Conscience (v6-9).

1. Paul talks about these false religionists "who creep into households."

2. One common strategy of the cults is to speak first to the woman of the house.

3. Why do you think that is true?

a. Because it is in direct opposition of God's plan for the family.

b. God established the man to lead the family…especially in spiritual matters.

c. He specifically forbids women to be leaders within the local church, but note the increase and acceptance of women pastors today.

4. Such deceived people are "always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

5. In v.8-9, Paul gives the illustration of the two Egyptian priests who "resisted Moses."

a. Though they could replicate some of Moses' miracles (snakes, water to blood)

b. They could "progress no further."

c. So it is with the deceivers of today, they may mimic and counterfeit the work of God, but they are limited in how far they can go.

What should be our response as we read and consider these verses? Realize that our time is short. What we do for Christ must be done today! We cannot sit back and think we have plenty of time. We are living in perilous times. People are bound in sin and we have the key! Jesus!

Paul challenges us to be not unwise…but understanding the times…take full advantage and do all we can to see others brought to a saving knowledge of Him. We can see the condition of our society, we can see the need of those around us, but what will we do?

Look at the rest of this chapter. Paul admonishes Timothy with regard to the last days, but also with regard to Timothy's responsibility to live godly in the midst of a darkened world. We must be the light! We must shine that others might see our good works and glorify God. What do others see when they look at us.

Thank you, we will never forget you! May you always have beautiful clothes and joy in your home. We are so glad you are surrounded by your loving family and good true friends. We will miss you, but you will always be in our hearts. It is good to know we will spend eternity with you. You were the closest person so full of God who understands His heart to get into the white house, maybe ever. It was all too good to be true, but the purpose is His and we still have yet to see all the good that came from so many on their knees praying because of you! We would have been complacent and sick in heart all this time. You gave us hope! Hope we see you in the states again one election. Kiss your babies for us! Thank you, we love you! Everyone who Loves God and is called to His purpose in Destin and Santa Rosa Beach FL and in the good ol' USA!

Some of you may be wondering what Judge Roy Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall. Please read the poem he wrote.

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama . Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama ! The judge's poem sums it up quite well.


America the beautiful,
or so you used to be.

Abortion on demand,

A national defense analyst says President Bush should be commended for keeping quiet about a discovery that could have blown his critics out of the water.
Retired Major General Jerry Curry is a decorated combat veteran who served as an Army aviator, paratrooper, and Ranger during a military career that began during the Korean conflict. He recently wrote on his blog about a very under reported story by the Associated Press. (See link below)
According to the report, a large stockpile of concentrated natural Uranium, known as "yellowcake," reached a Canadian port to complete a top secret U.S. Operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad, and a ship voyage crossing two oceans. The Uranium material had been housed at a former Iraqi nuclear complex 12 miles from Baghdad.
Curry says the president kept mum about the discovery in order to keep terrorists in the dark. "He made a very brave stand, a resolute stand..., in which he decided that he wasn't going to blab everything to the press," Curry commends. "...And in the meantime while he kept it quiet, he was buying time from the terrorists to get all that stuff out of the country. So that's what was done -- he just very quietly kept his mouth shut."
"The press beat him to death for the last several years," he continues, "and now it turns out that, yes, there were weapons of mass destruction...." Curry also maintains that Saddam Hussein had an active nuclear program and the material could have been made into a nuclear weapon.
President Bush's actions took courage, he notes, and all Americans should be thankful to have such a brave president who puts the welfare of the American people above personal considerations.

released a story titled: Secret U.S. mission hauls uranium from Iraq.
The opening paragraph is as follows:

The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

See anything wrong with this picture? We have been hearing from the far-left for more than five years how, Bush lied. Somehow, that slogan loses its credibility now that 550 metric tons of Saddam's yellowcake, used for nuclear weapon enrichment, has been discovered and shipped to Canada for its new use as nuclear energy.

It appears that American troops found the 550 metric tons of uranium in 2003 after invading Iraq. They had to sit on this information and the uranium itself, for fear of terrorists attempting to steal it. It was guarded and kept safe by our military in a 23,000-acre site with large sand beams surrounding the site.

This is vindication for the Bush administration, having been attacked mercilessly by the liberal media and the far-left pundits on the blogosphere. Now that it is proven that President Bush did not lie about Saddam's nuclear ambitions, one would think the
mainstream media would report the story. Once the AP released the story, the mainstream media should have picked it up and broadcast it worldwide.

This never happened, due in large part I believe, to the fact that the mainstream media would have to admit they were wrong about Bush's war motives all along. Thankfully, the AP got it right when it said,

Closing the book on Saddam's nuclear legacy. Did Saddam have a nuclear legacy after all? I thought Bush lied. As it turns out, the people who lied were Joe Wilson and his wife.

Valerie Plame engaged in a clear case of nepotism and convinced the CIA to send her husband on a fact finding mission in February 2002, seeking to determine if Saddam Hussein attempted to buy yellowcake from Niger. The CIA and British intelligence believed Saddam contacted Niger for that purpose but needed proof.

During his trip to Niger, Wilson actually interviewed the former prime minister of Niger, Ibrahim Assane Mayaki. Mayaki told Wilson that in June of 1999, an Iraqi delegation expressed interest in "expanding commercial relations" for the purposes of purchasing yellowcake.

Wilson chose to overlook Malachi’s remarks and reported to the CIA that there was no evidence of Hussein wanting to purchase yellowcake from Niger.

However, with British intelligence insisting the claim was true, President Bush used that same claim in his State of the Union address in January of 2003.

Outraged by Bush's insistence that the claim was true, Wilson wrote an op-ed in the New York Times in the summer of 2003 slamming Bush.

Wilson did this in spite of the fact that Mayaki said Saddam did try to buy the yellowcake from Niger. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence disagreed with Wilson and supported Mayaki's claim. This meant nothing to Wilson who
was opposed to the Iraq war and thus had ulterior motives in covering up the prime minister's statements.

It was a simple tactic really. If the far-left and their friends in the media could prove Bush lied about Hussein wanting to purchase
yellowcake from Niger, it would undermine President Bush's credibility and give them more cause for asking what other lies he may have told.

Yet, the real lie came from Wilson, who interpreted his own meaning from the prime minister's statements and concluded all by
himself that the claim of Saddam attempting to purchase yellowcake was "unequivocally wrong." Curiously, the CIA sat on this information and did not inform the CIA Director, who sided with Bush on the yellowcake claim. This was made public in a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report in July 2004.

Valerie Plame also engaged in her own lie campaign by spreading the notion that the Bush administration ousted her as a CIA agent. Never mind that it was Richard Armitage -- no friend of the Bush administration -- who leaked Plame's identity to the press. Never mind that Plame had not been in the field as a CIA agent in some six years.

The truth is, due to their opposition to the war, Joe Wilson, Valerie Plame, the mainstream media and their left-wing friends on the
blogosphere engaged in a propaganda campaign to undermine the Bush administration. Now that Saddam's uranium has been made public and is no longer a threat to the world, do you think these aforementioned parties will apologize and admit they were wrong? Don't count on it. The rest of the American people should hear the truth about Saddam's uranium. It is up to you and me to inform them every chance we get.

As far as the anti-war crowd is concerned, the next time they say that, "Bush lied," we should tell them to, "Have the yellowcake and eat it too."

HONOLULU, Hawaii – Although the legitimacy of Sen. Barack Obama's birth certificate has become a focus of intense speculation – and even several lawsuits – WND has learned that Hawaii's Gov. Linda Lingle has placed the candidate's birth certificate under seal and instructed the state's Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances.

The governor's office officially declined a request made in writing by WND in Hawaii to obtain a copy of the hospital-generated original birth certificate of Barack Obama.

"It does not appear that Dr. Corsi is within any of these categories of persons with a direct and tangible interest in the birth certificate he seeks," wrote Roz Makuala, manager of constituent services in the governor's office, in an e-mailed response to a WND request seeking the information.

Those listed as entitled to obtain a copy of an original birth certificate include the person born, or "registrant" according to the legal description from the governor's office, the spouse or parent of the registrant, a descendant of the registrant, a person having a common ancestor with the registrant, a legal guardian of the registrant, or a person or agency acting on behalf of the registrant.

WND was told the official reason for denial of access to Obama's birth certificate would be authority granted pursuant to Section 338-18 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, a provision the anonymous source claimed was designed to prevent identity theft.

Still, the source told WND confidentially the motivation for withholding the original birth certificate was political, although the source refused to disclose whether there was any information on the original birth certificate that would prove politically embarrassing to Obama.

The source also refused to answer WND's question whether the original document on file with the Department of Health was a hospital-generated birth certificate or a registration of birth that may have been filed subsequent to the birth.

The anonymous source made clear the Hawaii Department of Health would immediately release Obama's original birth certificate, provided Obama requested the document be released, but the Department of Heath has received no such request from the senator or from anyone acting officially on his behalf.

WND also found on microfilm in the Honolulu downtown public library a notice published under the "Births, Marriages, Deaths" section of the Honolulu Sunday Advertiser for August 13, 1961, on page B-6, noting: "Mr. and Mrs. Barack II Obama. 6085 Kalanianaole-Hwy, son, Aug. 4."

In searching through the birth notices of the Honolulu Advertiser for 1961, WND found many birth notices were published between one and two weeks after the date of birth listed.

The notice in the Honolulu Advertiser does not list the hospital where the Obama son was born or the doctor who delivered the baby.

In a startling development, Obama's Kenyan grandmother has reportedly alleged she witnessed Obama's birth at the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.

Friday, U.S. Federal judge Richard Barclay Surrick, a Clinton appointee, dismissed a lawsuit brought by Pennsylvania attorney Phillip J. Berg who alleged Obama was not a U.S. "natural born" citizen and therefore ineligible for the presidency under the specifications of the U.S. Constitution, under Article II, Section 1.

Berg told WND last week he does not have a copy of a Kenyan birth certificate for Obama that he alleges exists.

In Kenya, WND was told by government authorities that all documents concerning Obama were under seal until after the U.S. presidential election on November 4.

The Obama campaign website entitled "Fight the Smears" posts a state of Hawaii "Certificate of Live Birth" which is obviously not the original birth certificate generated by the hospital where Obama reportedly was born.

"Fight the Smears" declares, "The truth is, Barack Obama was born in the state of Hawaii in 1961, a native citizen of the United States of America."

Although the Obama campaign could immediately put an end to all the challenges by simply producing the candidate's original birth certificate, it has not done so. And the "Fight the Smears" website offers no explanation as to why Obama has refused to request, and make public, an original hospital-generated birth certificate which the Hawaii Department of Health may possess.

The Pennsylvania Democrat who has sued Sen. Barack Obama demanding he prove his American citizenship – and therefore qualification to run for president – has confirmed he has a recording of a telephone call from the senator's paternal grandmother confirming his birth in Kenya.

The issue of Obama's birthplace, which he states is Honolulu in 1961, has been raised enough times that his campaign website has posted an image purporting to be of his "Certification of Live Birth" from Hawaii.

But Philip J. Berg, a former deputy attorney general for Pennsylvania, told the Michael Savage talk radio program tonight that the document is forged and that he has a tape recording he will soon release.

"This has been a real sham he's pulled off for the last 20 months," Berg told Savage. "I'll release it [the tape] in a day or two, affidavits from her talking to a certain person. I heard the tape. She was speaking [to someone] here in the United States."

He said the telephone call was from Obama's paternal grandmother affirming she "was in the delivery room in Kenya when he was born Aug. 4, 1961."

Berg said he's pursuing the issue because of "the most important document in the United States," the U.S. Constitution.

"Nothing is more important than enforcing the Constitution," he said. "The Constitution's provisions are very small for qualifying for president. One, be over 35, and he is. Two, be in the country 14 years, and he has been. Three, be a natural-born citizen. He is not."

Obama campaign officials acknowledged the dispute by posting the image purporting to be a copy of his certification of live birth earlier this year. But they've declined to return WND requests for comment on the issues.

WND reported earlier this week Berg's claim that Obama has legally "admitted" the accusations included in his lawsuit, including that he was born in Mombosa, Kenya, by not responding to the allegations.

Berg filed suit in U.S. District Court in August alleging Obama is not a natural-born citizen and is thus ineligible to serve as president of the United States.

His lawsuit is demanding that the courts verify Obama's original birth certificate.

Berg has cited Rule 36 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which states that unless the accused party provides written answer or objection to charges within 30 days, the accused legally admits the matter.

Since Obama filed only motions to dismiss the case and did not actually answer the claims, according to Rule 36, Obama has legally admitted he is not a natural-born citizen., asserted Berg, who has taken his information public through his website.

Berg addressed the existence of a birth announcement in the Honolulu Advertiser newspaper, featured on the Atlasshrugs2000 website, that suggests Obama was born in the city Aug. 4, 1961.

But Berg explained to Savage he believes Obama's mother was near the end of her pregnancy and unable to travel by plane, so Obama was born in Kenya. The family then traveled to Hawaii and registered the birth and submitted the newspaper announcement.

Besides Berg's lawsuit, several other court challenges also have been filed, including one in Washington state where petitioners are seeking to have the Washington secretary of state "verify Obama's eligibility" to serve prior to the election.

The claim states, "The 'certificate' that Mr. Obama has posted on his official Website is a 'Certification of Live Birth,' and not a 'Birth Certificate' from Hawaii. There is no indication on even this certificate as to specifically where the birth took place."

Berg also told Savage there is no information available on which hospital Obama's mother used in Hawaii.

The Washington state case also alleges, "Wayne Madsen, Journalist with Online Journal as a contributing writer and published an article on June 9, 2008, stating that a research team went to Mombassa, Kenya, and located a Certificate Registering the birth of Barack Obama, Jr. at a Kenya Maternity Hospital, to his father, a Kenyan citizen and his mother, a U.S. citizen.

When Jerome Corsi, senior WND investigator reporter, recently traveled to Kenya to investigate several questions about the candidate, he was told the records were sealed and would not be made available.

Though it hasn't given Berg the evidence he seeks, the Obama campaign has publicly answered allegations that the candidate was born in Kenya and faked his Hawaii birth certificate.

"Smears claiming Barack Obama doesn't have a birth certificate aren't actually about that piece of paper," says the "Fight the Smears" section of Obama's website, "they're about manipulating people into thinking Barack is not an American citizen.

"The truth is, Barack Obama was born in the state of Hawaii in 1961, a native citizen of the United States of America," the campaign website states. It also includes images of the Hawaii certificate bearing the name Barack Hussein Obama II.

The Washington claim states, "If in fact Obama was born in Kenya, the laws on the books in the United States at the time of his birth stated if a child is born abroad and one parent was a U.S. Citizen, which would have been his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, Obama's mother would have had to live ten (10) years in the United States, five (5) of which were after the age of fourteen (14). At the time of Obama's birth, his mother was only eighteen (18) and therefore did not meet the residency requirements under the law to give her son (Obama) U.S. Citizenship much less the status of 'natural born.'"

Berg said he believed it also was a complication that Obama's mother divorced his father, married and moved to Indonesia for several years and Obama attended school there at a time when, Berg said, only Indonesia citizens were allowed in schools. Records that are available from Indonesia revealed Obama was registered in school as Barry Soetoro, and his religion was listed as Islam.

When Obama later returned to Hawaii, within the United States, there should have been a government document affirming his citizenship, but that also cannot be found. If that was not processed properly, Berg said, Obama would be in a situation even worse than not being a natural-born citizen.

"If he didn't go through immigration, he now is illegal and has been an illegal alien. He couldn't even hold the position of senator for Illinois," Berg said.

Further, Berg said he suspected Obama's college records may indicate he received aid as a foreigner, and that's why those records have been withheld by the campaign.

"I really think it's because it probably indicates he's from Kenya, or Indonesia, or received foreign aid," Berg said.

"I feel very confident saying these things," Berg told Savage.

Biden Removed From the Campaign Trail

MSNBC correspondent Andrea Mitchell reported yesterday (Video is Available Here) that the Obama campaign took Joe Biden off the campaign trail and sent him home to Delaware.
Who can really blame the Obama campaign? Joe Biden has made more gaffes in the past couple of months than most people make in a lifetime. Here is a sampling of some of Biden's gaffes:

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened." -Joe Biden, apparently unaware that FDR wasn't president when the stock market crashed in 1929 and that only experimental TV sets were in use at that time

Facing criticism from John McCain that his tax plan constitutes "welfare," Barack Obama recently added a work requirement to one of his proposals. "They started saying this was welfare," said Obama adviser Austan Goolsbee. "So, just so they would absolutely not be able to say that, we decided that for the last two percent we'll simply add a work requirement."
Goolsbee discussed the change to Obama's universal mortgage credit while debating McCain adviser Douglas Holtz-Eakin at the Council on Foreign Relations on Tuesday... "When did this change? I'm just curious," an incredulous Holtz-Eakin asked Goolsbee. "About two weeks ago," replied Goolsbee, adding that when the proposal was announced in September 2007, 98 percent of its benefits went to workers.

Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?

An open letter to the local daily paper — almost every local daily paper in America:
I remember reading All the President's Men and thinking: That's journalism. You do what it takes to get the truth and you lay it before the public, because the public has a right to know.
This housing crisis didn't come out of nowhere. It was not a vague emanation of the evil Bush administration.
It was a direct result of the political decision, back in the late 1990s, to loosen the rules of lending so that home loans would be more accessible to poor people. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were authorized to approve risky loans.
What is a risky loan? It's a loan that the recipient is likely not to be able to repay.
The goal of this rule change was to help the poor — which especially would help members of minority groups. But how does it help these people to give them a loan that they can't repay? They get into a house, yes, but when they can't make the payments, they lose the house — along with their credit rating.
They end up worse off than before.
This was completely foreseeable and in fact many people did foresee it. One political party, in Congress and in the executive branch, tried repeatedly to tighten up the rules. The other party blocked every such attempt and tried to loosen them.
Furthermore, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were making political contributions to the very members of Congress who were allowing them to make irresponsible loans. (Though why quasi-federal agencies were allowed to do so baffles me. It's as if the Pentagon were allowed to contribute to the political campaigns of Congressmen who support increasing their budget.)
Isn't there a story here? Doesn't journalism require that you who produce our daily paper tell the truth about who brought us to a position where the only way to keep confidence in our economy was a $700 billion bailout? Aren't you supposed to follow the money and see which politicians were benefiting personally from the deregulation of mortgage lending?
I have no doubt that if these facts had pointed to the Republican Party or to John McCain as the guilty parties, you would be treating it as a vast scandal. 'Housing-gate,' no doubt. Or 'Fannie-gate.'
Instead, it was Senator Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, both Democrats, who denied that there were any problems, who refused Bush administration requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and who were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting sub-prime mortgage loans almost up to the minute they failed.
As Thomas Sowell points out in a TownHall.com essay entitled 'Do Facts Matter?' ( http://snipurl.com/457townhall_com] ): 'Alan Greenspan warned them four years ago. So did the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the President. So did Bush's Secretary of the Treasury.'
These are facts. This financial crisis was completely preventable. The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was ... the Democratic Party. The party that tried to prevent it was ... the Republican Party.
Yet when Nancy Pelosi accused the Bush administration and Republican deregulation of causing the crisis, you in the press did not hold her to account for her lie. Instead, you criticized Republicans who took offense at this lie and refused to vote for the bailout!
What? It's not the liar, but the victims of the lie who are to blame?
Now let's follow the money ... right to the presidential candidate who is the number-two recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae.
And after Freddie Raines, the CEO of Fannie Mae who made $90 million while running it into the ground, was fired for his incompetence, one presidential candidate's campaign actually consulted him for advice on housing.
If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be getting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.
But instead, that candidate was Barack Obama, and so you have buried this story, and when the McCain campaign dared to call Raines an 'adviser' to the Obama campaign — because that campaign had sought his advice — you actually let Obama's people get away with accusing McCain of lying, merely because Raines wasn't listed as an official adviser to the Obama campaign.
You would never tolerate such weasely nit-picking from a Republican.
If you who produce our local daily paper actually had any principles, you would be pounding this story, because the prosperity of all Americans was put at risk by the foolish, short-sighted, politically selfish, and possibly corrupt actions of leading Democrats, including Obama.
If you who produce our local daily paper had any personal honor, you would find it unbearable to let the American people believe that somehow Republicans were to blame for this crisis.
There are precedents. Even though President Bush and his administration never said that Iraq sponsored or was linked to 9/11, you could not stand the fact that Americans had that misapprehension — so you pounded us with the fact that there was no such link. (Along the way, you created the false impression that Bush had lied to them and said that there was a connection.)
If you had any principles, then surely right now, when the American people are set to blame President Bush and John McCain for a crisis they tried to prevent, and are actually shifting to approve of Barack Obama because of a crisis he helped cause, you would be laboring at least as hard to correct that false impression.
Your job, as journalists, is to tell the truth. That's what you claim you do, when you accept people's money to buy or subscribe to your paper.
But right now, you are consenting to or actively promoting a big fat lie — that the housing crisis should somehow be blamed on Bush, McCain, and the Republicans. You have trained the American people to blame everything bad — even bad weather — on Bush, and they are responding as you have taught them to.
If you had any personal honor, each reporter and editor would be insisting on telling the truth — even if it hurts the election chances of your favorite candidate.
Because that's what honorable people do. Honest people tell the truth even when they don't like the probable consequences. That's what honesty means . That's how trust is earned.
Barack Obama is just another politician, and not a very wise one. He has revealed his ignorance and naivete time after time — and you have swept it under the rug, treated it as nothing.
Meanwhile, you have participated in the borking of Sarah Palin, reporting savage attacks on her for the pregnancy of her unmarried daughter — while you ignored the story of John Edwards's own adultery for many months.
So I ask you now: Do you have any standards at all? Do you even know what honesty means?
Is getting people to vote for Barack Obama so important that you will throw away everything that journalism is supposed to stand for?
You might want to remember the way the National Organization of Women threw away their integrity by supporting Bill Clinton despite his well-known pattern of sexual exploitation of powerless women. Who listens to NOW anymore? We know they stand for nothing; they have no principles.
That's where you are right now.
It's not too late. You know that if the situation were reversed, and the truth would damage McCain and help Obama, you would be moving heaven and earth to get the true story out there.
If you want to redeem your honor, you will swallow hard and make a list of all the stories you would print if it were McCain who had been getting money from Fannie Mae, McCain whose campaign had consulted with its discredited former CEO, McCain who had voted against tightening its lending practices.
Then you will print them, even though every one of those true stories will point the finger of blame at the reckless Democratic Party, which put our nation's prosperity at risk so they could feel good about helping the poor, and lay a fair share of the blame at Obama's door.
You will also tell the truth about John McCain: that he tried, as a Senator, to do what it took to prevent this crisis. You will tell the truth about President Bush: that his administration tried more than once to get Congress to regulate lending in a responsible way.
This was a Congress-caused crisis, beginning during the Clinton administration, with Democrats leading the way into the crisis and blocking every effort to get out of it in a timely fashion.
If you at our local daily newspaper continue to let Americans believe — and vote as if — President Bush and the Republicans caused the crisis, then you are joining in that lie.
If you do not tell the truth about the Democrats — including Barack Obama — and do so with the same energy you would use if the miscreants were Republicans — then you are not journalists by any standard.
You're just the public relations machine of the Democratic Party, and it's time you were all fired and real journalists brought in, so that we can actually have a news paper in our city.
